MRAP’s —Mine Resistant Ambushed Protected Vehicles— that were once designed to protect U.S. Soldiers from roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan, are now being supplied to local law enforcement across the nation. These 55,000-pound vehicles include machine guns, bullet proof glass, heavy armor, and a gunner’s turret. Hundreds have been spotted by citizens not only in cities but also in rural areas.
