Take Hold of the Peace That Jesus Gives Now!

Bridegroom-The-Word-Mighty-Warrior

This particular excerpt is the Prologue of Book Three in my Eternal Soul Series Trilogy, Soul Savior. I took a passage in the Bible and made a short entry-story out of it. This is not really what my story is about in the third book. It takes place during the last half of the tribulation up until Jesus Christ comes riding in as a warrior on His white horse, ready to avenge the saints and whoop some devilish butt! We will not see Him here as the meek, servant Jesus that He was made out to be the first time He came; rather, we see Him as a God of war…as the Bible tells us He shall be in Revelation 19:11-13, below.

Soul Savior—Book Three

By Lyn Leahz

Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

Revelation 19:11-13

Prologue

Jerusalem—Approximately 4 B.C.

Judas Lebbaeus, surnamed Thaddaeus, had just finished asking Jesus why He had revealed Himself to the twelve, but not to the rest of the world. As Jesus answered Him accordingly, Judas intently listened, honing in on every word that proceeded from the Messiah’s mouth.

Jesus had just swallowed a bite of His bread and was about to take a drink from His cup when He earnestly gazed into Judas’ eyes. He admired the inquisitiveness of His disciples, for they were eager and willing to learn.

He held His cup close to His lips, and with philosophical consideration said, “Don’t be troubled, and never be afraid; because you shall never find peace in this world like the peace I am leaving with you, or like the peace that I have given you.”

Jesus took a drink and then set His cup down. He wiped His lips, still staring at Judas who had tears in his eyes. He had never truly understood why people did the things they did, or why they were sometimes so easily emotional until He Himself walked the earth in a body of flesh. “Must you go Lord? It is not that I am afraid, Master; it is that I love you most of all!”

Jesus and Judas both stood up when Jesus opened His arms and embraced him, “I love you! If you love Me, you ought to rejoice because I am going home to the Father; for My Father is greater than I!” He leaned back and rested His hands on Judas’ shoulders while beaming into his face with depth and meaning.

Judas wiped the tears from his face and forced a smile, “Yes my Lord, I will be happy for you, and I am. But the fact that I shall miss you remains.”

Jesus laid His hand gently against Judas’ cheek as He slowly swept His thumb back and forth, “Judas, My child, you have no need to miss Me,” he affectionately trailed His hand down to Judas’ chest, abruptly hesitating over-top his heart, “because My Spirit shall forever be right here.”

Judas eagerly reached up and grabbed Jesus’ hand, crying tears of joy, “Thank You Jesus! Thank You my Savior!” he covered the top of Jesus’ hand with tears and kisses.

They embraced once again when Jesus stepped back and held His hand beneath his chin. Judas could sense something unusual in his Savior’s eyes; something direct, stern, and most serious. The rest of His disciples gathered around the table in view of them noticed as well.

In a normal tone, He said, “I say to you again, Judas! Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you!”

He squatted down so He could examine everyone’s faces. They were all lying on their sides, reclining at the table. With great zeal, He slammed His fist against it. Their faces went blank, unsure what to expect.

His eyes scanned back and forth at each of them as He addressed them resolutely, “You have no idea how precious this peace I am leaving with you is! There shall come a day when the people who belong to the world will seek peace, but they won’t find it because they have searched in all the wrong places—yet I gave it to you first! For you did not search, nor did you labor to find it, you only believed that I AM the Son of God, and so it was freely given.”

Judas was still standing, not sure whether to sit back down, or wait.

Jesus stood back up, turning once again toward Judas. He paused, gazing even deeper into his eyes, His expression more grave. With His lips, He smiled, though His eyes told a much different story. “Take hold of My peace and bury it deep within your heart, My son. For I come in peace and humility—this time! Behold! When I return, I shall exercise my supremacy with a vengeance as I make war! For the next time the world sees My face, they will curse the day of their birth!”

Judas stared at Him blankly, goose-flesh covering his entire body. His voice quivered, “What do You mean, Master?”

Jesus consoled him, “This shall not yet be for many generations! But, a day is coming when the world will turn far more evil than even Sodom and Gomorrah at its worst! Satan will be given authority, and humanity most wicked, as they bow at his feet and worship him!”

Judas’ mouth dropped open in disbelief, “This is most awful, my Lord! I cannot fathom anyone doing such an outrageous thing!”

Jesus smiled, “Unfortunately, Judas, it will be far worse than what I could ever convey to you in words. After My Father has poured out His wrath on every person who proclaims Lucifer their Lord, and willingly receives his mark–this is when I shall come as a mighty warrior dressed for battle!”

He held out His cup, as if to toast, smiling, “And when this happens, the blood of those who have died for My name’s sake shall finally be avenged!”
