The New America–another terrorist plot thwarted

ABC news reports that a Federal sting operation in New York City thwarted a terrorist attack against the Federal Reserve. ABC reports: “Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, 21, was arrested this morning (Oct 17) in downtown Manhattan after he allegedly attempted to detonate what he believed to be a 1,000-pound bomb at the New York Federal Reserve Bank on Liberty Street in lower Manhattan’s financial district.” The same day, the FBI thwarted another possible terrorist attack in Huntington, NY at a Home Depot. The yet to be named suspect had planted a pipe bomb there. Here in central Maryland, police recently evacuated our local mall due to a bomb threat. Is this the new America?

Daily Jot intel sources have been warning for several weeks that members of a highly trained terrorist sponsoring foreign military have entered the country and are planning attacks on soft targets such as malls, churches, schools and department stores. Terrorist expert Dave Gaubatz wrote in the American Thinker as early as February 2007 that Islamic terrorist cells are already in place in the US, concluding: “Terrorist sleeper cells are located primarily in North Carolina, Michigan, and Canada. The “sleepers” are prepared to conduct terrorist attacks within the U.S….”Prepared” in this instance indicates they have the necessary tools to carry our their attacks and are prepared to die.”

On the highways, railways, airports, Americans are encouraged to turn one another in if they are suspicious through the “If you see something, say something” campaign. At the same time, the occupant of the Oval Office is telling Americans in the presidential debates that he wants to support the gun laws on the books, yet at the same time find ways to reduce availability of modern defensive weapons to citizens–The idea that the police will protect the citizenry and they therefore somehow make the right to bear arms obsolete. I remember in 2002 John Muhammad and Malik Malvo sniping innocent people in the Washington, DC area. The police chief said he could no longer protect the citizens.

The America our children are growing up in is not the same as the one we grew up in. It is ever evident that the rule of law does not bind the lawless, violently so. It is also evident that Americans need to protect themselves as Yeshua told his disciples in Luke 22:36, “…and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” Likewise, we also are instructed in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” I look at the sword two-fold: The sword of defense may be our modern weapon of choice; the Sword of offense is the word of YHVH, which if we are using it, there is less need for the sword of defense.
