The Call To Prayer

answeredprayerI’m not sure what it is, but today I feel a sense of heaviness upon my heart; deep heaviness and impending doom.  The type of heaviness and impending doom I sense is not an ungodly one that fits the description of 2 Timothy 1:7; rather, it is a sense of warning, a quickening of the Holy Spirit inside of me.  The Lord does weigh this on His people from time to time whenever He wants us to pray about something.  Please know, I am NOT trying to inflict fear in anyone whatsoever, but we need to pray, and pray real hard.

Something is getting ready to happen of GREAT significance, very soon—mark my words!  I am not having this feeling because of what’s going on in Iran and Israel.  I am not having this feeling because of the Presidential election.  This just came on me for no reason whatsoever today, and what comes to mind is prayer.  The heaviness has weighed on me so much today that it has nearly brought me to tears; in fact, if I didn’t have to run to the store, I would go ahead and cry and let the mascara drip down my eyes like a raccoon in a hot tub.

Listen people; I can’t tell you what is going to happen.  This time around, the Lord isn’t telling me anything specific, just that something is going to happen soon!  I also do not know what ‘soon’ is in God’s dictionary.  Soon could be tomorrow, next week, next month, or months from now; I honestly haven’t a clue.  Please pray.  If it is the last thing you do by the end of the day, pray about his with me.  Pray for the safety of His people and their children, that those who do not know Him will be brought to Him in salvation through Jesus Christ, that those who have known Him but have been living in unrepentance will repent, pray for all children everywhere, all people…pray pray pray!  I beg you.  The prayer of a righteous man (or woman) avails much, according to the Bible.  But for something of this nature, we need more people praying.

If one man goes alone to the battle field, he might fend off a few attacks on his own; but the more troops are in his company with him, the greater the chances of victory!  Whatever this is ‘is’ something serious.  That’s all I know.  Something devastating and horrible.

Jeremiah 29:12, “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.”

Psalm 4:1, “Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.”

Psalm 50:15, “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

Psalm 145:18, “The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”

Proverbs 15:8, “The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.”

Isaiah 55:6, “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”

*Mark 11:7, “And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ” ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’”

Mark 11:22-25, “’Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins’”

Luke 18:1-10, “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’  For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’  “And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

John 14:13-14 “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

Colossians 4:2, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

See, we are a people called to prayer.  The Lord moves us to pray, to go places, and to do things; that’s just the way it works in His kingdom.  Please stand with me in this, and let’s move mountains.  Whatever is going to happen will happen, but our effective prayers combined can make better whatever this is, and can protect people.

  1. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, but last night I felt something grab my leg, right above the ankle while I was sleeping and it was pulling hard. I don’t know what it was, or what it meant, but I did feel something dreadful was about to happen.
