From the Sublime to the Ridiculous

– Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com

There seems to be a fine line between sublime and ridiculous. For example, the occupant of the Oval Office‘s bravado in announcing his “new day” foreign policy with Islam has turned into a national security nightmare for America reminiscent of Jimmy Carter. The first lady is not far behind in her attack on obesity. She enthusiastically agreed on the Dr. Oz Show that obesity is the greatest national security threat. Islamic terrorists in Libya and Egypt, whose new “democratic” governments were funded in a large part by American tax dollars, are burning the US Flag and murdering our diplomats, and this White House issues a statement that we should not do things to hurt Muslims’ feelings.

Fat people and Americans who criticize the violent and oppressive Islamic culture are a national security risk, while Libyan Islamists can kill our diplomat and his aides, parade his half naked body around the streets, and burn our Embassy and the president and the secretary of state apologize for someone being offensive to Islam. The occupant of the Oval Office refuses a meeting with the Prime Minister of Israel, a close ally of the US, while at the same time putting on his schedule the newly elected President of Egypt–a leader of the terrorist sponsoring Muslim Brotherhood. For those of us who remember the Jimmy Carter era, this presidency is far surpassed Carter’s incompetence both domestically and in foreign policy.

“Blame it on Bush,” the president’s shills say over and over again. It is far time to put the failings of George Bush in the rear view mirror. When this president entered the Oval Office, gas was $1.83 a gallon. Now it is over $3.80 a gallon. There are over 86 million people who have fallen off the unemployment rolls, making true unemployment more than double during his term. America is in debt to the tune of 16 TRILLION dollars–that’s $51,000 per citizen, over $140,000 per tax payer. I don’t know about you, but the value of my home has declined over 30% since 2008, and many people have lost their homes and are destitute. The middle class, the little guy this president says he represents, is disappearing.

There are many reasons for the failures of US leadership. I believe it is because most Americans, who choose their leaders, are too busy trying to make ends meet to focus on the job their elected officials are doing. In fact, most Americans are so busy that they do not pursue a relationship with YHVH, which would give them the wisdom to manage their time and keep their morals and teach their families. Many, maybe most, are just not engaged. The Lord gave us the roadmap to choose leaders in Exodus 18:21, “Moreover, thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear YHVH, men of truth, hating covetousness…” Based on this moral and spiritual criteria, who deserves leadership?

  1. I don’t usually respond to political posts, especially not re American politics, even though I recognise the importance of America’s position in the world.
(I am not American and can’t understand the American system, but I do take an active interest – as in writing to politicians – in Australian politics)

I certainly have to agree with your opening sentence. There and here political correctness has gone loco. It seems that everything is one sided and the everyday citizen loses out.

There has been no time like the present for a cry to God’s people in the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14

    • Oh meetingintheclouds..I do not write any of these political posts; I get them from prophecy news publications and post them immediately. Some guy named Bill Wilson, and his link next to him name, wrote it; it’s up top here.

I only post news articles if they pertain to prophecy related events in the Bible. I am not into ‘politics’ per se and never have been; however, this year is quite different with all of the prophetic events and signs that have been occurring in the world; therefore, I must inform anyone who would see this of what is taking place. Also, for someone who is living in unrepentance, knowing what’s going on might very well bring them to repentance, thus saving their soul from hell. God bless you and I’m glad to hear from you!

      • Lyn, I realised it was a repost and not your writing, even though I see I put “your opening sentence”.

As I said, I don’t usually respond to political posts, but one thing I’ll say is that I can’t understand how any Christian, in any part of the world, could vote for a leader (or party) who advocates murdering unborn babies.

        • It’s okay, I just wanted to make sure you knew..or that everyone knew..I didn’t want to take any credit for anything I didn’t write; but thank you, meetingintheclouds, for replying back to me and God bless you.

I can’t understand ‘Christians’ these days either; what we must look at is the fact that we are dealing with “Christians” today, and we are dealing with the people the Bible clearly warns us about for this day who call themselves Christians, but truly are not.

2 Timothy 3:1-9 says, “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.”

Note the part in particular, “…having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people…”

    • Now, I do write everything else on here.. but if it has a name of someone on it other than me, then it’s not by me. Everything else I write, unless specified otherwise. Forgot to say that 😉

  4. Great series of articles, Lyn. Mr. Wilson hits it right on the head. Thank you for the excellent work…

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 God's call to the world! Are you ready?
